Line with the position of Governor Douye Diri’ s call on the need for Bayelsans, particularly the youths to get themselves engaged in productive ventures especially in the agricultural sector, the MD/ CEO Kingdom Obuza Agricultural Ventures, Mr Kingdom Obuza said that he had long heeded that call by the governor and others before him, by getting himself fully into farming for commercial purposes.
Speaking during a tour/inspection by government officials of agricultural products on display during the World Food Day 2026 programme in Yenagoa, the young agropreneur, revealed that his company is not only involved in producing vegetable and poultry products but that it is equally involved in Agro Consultancy, Engineering/ Construction of poultry pens, fish ponds, farm boreholes among other Agro allied equipments.
His farms, he said are located in various parts of the state and have, over the years, been challenged by expanding demands from customers – within and outside Bayelsa – which his company is trying hard to meet.It is on this note, he said that his outfit is poised to go into partnership with individuals, groups and Banks with the view to acquiring the financial muscle to match customers demand.
Having been in farming business for about 22 years running, Kingdom Obuza Agricultural Ventures, the MD explained, have gathered reasonable experience to the extent that it has gone into training and introducing farmers and youths into technologically driven methods in farming for maximum output; thus ensuring that the often echoed prosperity mantra in the state becomes a reality in the lives of the people.
Youths, he described are a group in the society that possess adequate energy for farming activities, not the elderly whom he noted may be doing it in a subsistent level. Government, he urged should therefore put more efforts in every way possible “to encourage this segment of the population” to go into farming so as to “reduce the unemployment rate in the society”.
